What is Leadvelo Bicicasa?
Leadvelo Bicicasa is an “all-bikes, all-people” bike shop in Leadville, Colorado. Everyone is welcome. Every bike is welcome.
Se habla: road, gravel, cyclotouring, fixed gear, bikepacking, enduro, XC, CX, BMX, e-bike, track, L’Eroica/retro, randonneur, rinko, klunker, endurance, singlespeed, cargo bikes, IGH, NJS, folding bikes, fat bikes — and of course Español.
The shop is owned and operated by me, Rafael Millan-Garcia, a.k.a. Rafa the Hispanic Mechanic, a.k.a. Rafael “Cletero” (bike guy).
The name “Bicicasa” (pronounced bee-see-casa) comes from my childhood, growing up in Mexico City. My dad used to take me to this avenue with a long strip of bike shops, mostly family-owned, with names like “Bicicasa Gonzalez” and “Bicicasa Rodriguez.” We called it going to the “bicicasas.”
The name is a nod to my heritage, and it’s also my approach to opening a bike shop: I want it to feel like a family; I want it to feel like home. Mi bicicasa es su casa.

We aim is to cater to everybody, from streamers and dice valve caps to electronic shifting and carbon wheels — with the goal of creating an inventory that will serve the kids on the block as well as racers and bikepackers, roadies, recreational riders and all other bike lovers.
In addition to new bikes and parts, we also offer a selection of certified, pre-pedaled bikes and used parts.

Bikepacking has a special place in the roots of Leadvelo. Having led a car-free lifestyle my whole life, I've been seduced by the appeal of long distance bicycle travel at an early age and never looked back; starting with traditional cyclotouring and morphing into bikepacking along the miles.
Carrying everything you need on a bike that can go anywhere is the best way to see the world and experience wild nature. Our inventory has a special emphasis on the bikes and gear to help you do it successfully.
Swing on by and share your trail tales, gear requests, or just geek out about equipment, routes, and trail-ninja tips. Leadvelo Bicicasa welcomes all Colorado Trail riders to stop by, have a rest, get your gear fixed, and talk #bicipacking.

We’re located in the heart of historic downtown Leadville, Colorado, at an elevation of nearly 10,200 feet above sea level, making us the highest bike shop in the United States.
Not only do we have the best location in town, we also have the best neighbors! Melanzana and Golden Burro Cafe across the street to keep us warm in style and feed us dank plant based meals and Zero Day Coffee around the corner to fulfill our hot drink and sweet treat addictions.
